FUR COLLAR...HOLLER!

Over the Christmas break all my lovely friends came back into town and we spent many hours catching up...one night we went to Cafe Rio! Is there any where else really? Well we got on the subject of Utah trends, religion and politics and it got pretty heated...well a couple of them, I won't name any names (Adrienne & Anne LOL) said that they hated all the fur collar stuff...well I defended my fur (and Kristin's even though she just sat there and laughed) and then when I was packing this week I counted just how many things I have with fur on them...well the inventory goes a little something like this...

5 Fur Vests
2 Fur Coats
2 Fur sets of Gloves and then some other unmentionables that probably aren't appropriate for family blogging time.

Someone could easily say that on any given day of the week I am probably wearing one of the above. So I thought I would post this pic in honor of them and their "Utah Fads"!

$$$ MONEY PIT $$$

We closed on our house over a week ago and we have still not moved in...I think the lady we bought the house from had a pack of wolves live with her from the time we made an offer until closing. The house is only four years old and we have had to do the following...

* Replace all carpet & Hard wood in the house
* Replace all base boards
*Replace all appliances
*Replace toilet seat covers...they are the kind when you sit down and its a cushion...GROSS!
*Paint entire house from top to bottom
* Patching like you wouldn't believe
*Replacement of some doors
*Replacement of all door hardware

We also turned the front sitting room into a office...this project is now going on a week straight and way over budget LOL...it will be awesome when we are done...hopefully this weekend! This lady should have been turned into the health department...here are some before and after pics so far!

GUITAR HERO = OBSESSION

So this summer in Bear Lake my brother and Kory brought Guitar Hero...it was so much fun and Jaxson loved it! So for Christmas we got him a new XBOX 360 and my mom got him Guitar Hero...We had to unplug it and pretend it was packed for moving so we would stop playing it. The first week after Christmas we stayed up until midnight each night...unreal! Then Anne and I went to Charity's parents Holiday party and low and behold they bust out Guitar Hero too. Which was ok because I got to hustle up to her little bro Levi (20) and pretend that I didn't know how to play! HAHAHA! Too bad you can't burn calories with your fingers!

THE RACE IS ON!!!

Most of you know that I come from a family where politics is not just a discussion once every four years...it is something talked about over every meal! Crazy I know! I remember my first year of college my mom called at 7AM and said get out of bed and go vote...you need to show me the "I Voted" sticker or you won't get allowance this week...now some of you may be laughing at one of two things...my mother or the fact that I still received allowance in college! lol!

So from the time I was little, politics have always been something I had to know about or my brother and father would demoralize me in conversations and we all know how I like to win a debate... LOL! I was also raised Democrat which is unusual for Utah since we are out voted ten to one. I think the only other people around us that were Democrats too were the Mikesell's! Correct me if I am wrong Kassie!

With that said, right now is such a crucial time for our country and with all the primary elections going on I thought this link would be great...it asks you about 15 questions about issues...not about REP or DEM...just issues. You choose your stance on the issue and then it spits out who you should vote for. It is crazy because most of the people I have had do this have got a different candidate then the one they like.

SO my challenge is to all of you, take this quiz then post on your site who it spit out as your candidate...DON'T LIE...HONOR SYSTEM!

Happy New Year!!!

I hope you all had a great Christmas! We had an awesome break with family and friends. The kids favorite and ours was XBOX 360 accompanied with GUITAR HERO. We played it til midnight just about every night after Christmas! Max got a scooter that he drives around on everyone's toes. I got the Canon Rebel Digital SLR that I LOVE...Bart did good this Christmas...now are lives are back to reality madness...we are supposed to close on our new house this week so cross your fingers!

SICKO

Alright...this is a challenge for all my conforming republican friends :) lol Over Christmas Bart and I rented SICKO...it is the latest movie by Micheal Moore. I am not the hugest MM fan but I do think that his movies are good and give another point of view other than what most hear on FOX 13! So I challenge all of you to watch it. It is really good. Especially for those of you who are against socialized medicine...it will really open your eyes! Let me know what you think of it and if any of you want to move to Paris with me after :)!
